Team Ogun this Sunday won its first medal (BRONZE) at the ongoing 2023 National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.
Competing in the Judo (40KG) Category, Mojeed Rilwan defeated Emmanuel Abel from Edo state in the Bronze medal contest to set the tone for the Gateway state.
The keenly contested fight lasted for 34 minutes, and Mojeed Rilwan came out victorious.
Earlier in the day, the state’s female football team qualified for the semi final after beating team Adamawa 5-0 in the quarter final.
The football team will now lock horns with team Lagos in the semi final in Ugwashi Uku, Delta State.
Team Lagos also thrashed team Delta 5-0 in their quarter final duel.
Meanwhile, Golf and scrabble events will commence on Monday.
