Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro has confirmed that Belgium based Alhassan Yusuf will not play a part in Thursday’s Group A game against hosts Cote D’Ivoire at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
OGBC reporter Bayo Adegboyega who was at the Pre match News conference held this Wednesday at the Main Media centre, Palaise De La Culture in Abidjan, reports that Alhassan Yusuf who made a remarkable debut for the Super Eagles in the 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday is undergoing further assessment to ascertain the severity of his injury going by the words of Coach Peseiro.
Peseiro is however hopeful that the Royal Antwerp man will return on time to take part in the last group A game against Guinea Bissau’s Wild Dogs.
Meanwhile, the coach confirmed that Victor Osimhen,Terem Moffi and Kelechi Iheanacho are in good shape to face the Ivorians who were 2-0 winners over Guinea Bissau in their tournament opener.
Thursday’s encounter is scheduled for Alassane Ouattara stadium, D’ebimpe, Northern part of Abidjan, the country’s capital city starting from 6pm local time, 7pm Nigerian time
