GOVERNOR ABIODUN PRESENTS N472.54 BILLION 2023 APPROPRIATION BILL.

The Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun this Thursday presented a sum of N472.54 billion as the appropriation bill for the year 2023.

Presenting the budget at the Hallow chamber of the State House of Assembly, okemosan Abeokuta this Thursday ,governor Abiodun who christened” Budget of continue development and prosperity” said it is targeted at improving on the growth of the state to address the infrastructural challenges facing the state.

Mr governor however explained that the Budget would place priority on the improvement of energy, transportation, empowerment and other related matters that would enhance the standard of living in the state.

Giving the breakdown of the annual Budget,Governor Abiodun informed that the Capital expenditure stood at N270.41 billion,while the recurrent expenditure amounted to N201.84 billion.

The number one citizen of the gateway state assured that the state government would strenthen its Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, towards the full implementation of the budget

In the meantime, the Ogun state government is committed to a robust transportation system which will enhance economic prosperity of the people.

The Commissioner for Transportation,Engr Gbenga Dairo stated this shortly after the presentation of 2023 appropriation bill before the house of Assembly by gov Dapo Abiodun.

In an interview with lobby correspondent Dele Ogunleye,the commissioner said the budget will provide improved transportation for the people.

He commended the governor for giant stride recorded in governance,reminding residents of better service delivery in rail,bus services across the state.

Still on the 2023 Budget presentation,
the ogun state governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has called on members of the state House of assembly to expedite action in passing the 2023 appropriation bill due to its importance to the ongoing reformation in the state

appropriation bill explained that the event was another symbolic representation of their joint mission towards the realization of the state as a collective dreams

He noted that the challenges ahead of the executive and the legislature in the coming year dictate that the two arms of government should strengthen its collaborative efforts to continue to deliver dividend of democracy to the people of the state

Mr governor while thanking the lawmakers for their continued collaboration and cooperation within the ambits of the principle and practice of separation of powers called on the lawmakers for their unflinching support and cooperation to enable government deliver its promises in the coming year

Governor Abiodun re-emphasised that the people of the state should expect that the 2023 budget would contain only implementable and critical projects which according to him when completed would significantly address current infrastructural challenges of the economy, improve the business environment and accelerate economic recovery.
