The Nigeria Under 17 girls team, Flamingos this Sunday beat Germany 3-2 on penalties to finish as the third best team at the 2022 FIFA Under 17 Women’s World Cup.
The Flamingos led the Germans 3-0 In what started like a stroll in the park for the Nigerian girls.
The Germans then came back from three goals down and forced the 3rd place game into penalties where Nigeria eventually triumphed.
First choice goalkeeper Faith Omilana saved a spot kick as the Nigerian girls recorded their best ever outing at this stage.
Before the 2022 edition, the quarter final stage was the best achievement for any Nigeria Under 17 girls’ team
