The Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has called on the people of the state to take ownership of public infrastructures, particularly roads in their various localities for durability and proper maintenance
Governor Abiodun made the call on sunday at the official commissioning of a kilometer Isheri Olofin Palace Road in Ifo Local Government area of the state.
The governor who was represented by his Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure; engineer Ade Adesanya, promised that his administration would continue to do all it can to make life better for the people of the state.
He said that his administration would not relent in its effort to rehabilitate some failed sections of the Sango-Ota-Ijoko-Alagbole road, adding that the road already divided into six sections, would be completed at the appropriate time to ease the movement of goods and services within the axis
While assuring that his administration would continue to embark on the continuous maintainance of the Lagos-Abeokuta road pending the transfer of the road to the state government, reiterated that his administration would intensify efforts utilising the Public-Private Partnership programme of the current administration to identify available financial options for road projects across the state.
The governor commended honourable Ibrahim Isiaka, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ifo/ Ewekoro Federal Constituency, for facilitating the project in the community which he said would enhance people’s movement and the commercial values of the ancient town
The project facilitator, honourable Ibrahim Isiaka, in a remark lauded the governor for having faith in his candidacy, informed that the road project which was made possible through the support of the Chairman, House Committee on Works; Honourable Mohammed is dedicated to the present administration in the state.
The lawmaker while calling on the people of the state to support the second term ambition of the governor, said that a second term in office would ensure the completion of the ongoing projects as well as the beginning of new ones.
