Government renews commitment to improving socio-economic activities through agriculture.

As part of efforts in achieving socio economic transformation of the state through agriculture.

The current administration has concluded an arrangement to send two bills to the State House Assembly.

Governor Dapo Abiodun who stated this While playing host to the Executive Director of Nigeria Export Promotion Council (NEPC) Chief Segun Awolowo explained that the bill on Public Private Partnership, PPP and the State Investment Promotion Bill are to give legal backings to the activities of the government.

He added that government will also introduce one stop shop to avoid bureaucracy and bottlenecks that may hamper investment while multiple taxation will also be discouraged.

Mr Governor said that the current administration is poised to make the state the commercial capital of the country by taking a lead in the area of agriculture, commerce and export trade.

While commending the management of the NEPC for the visit, he assured that Government will continue to liaise with the council to simplify investment procedures in order to promote export trade.

In his remarks, Chief Segun Awolowo informed the Governor of some of the steps being taken by the actively involved in export trade for employment generation for the youths and income for the Nation.

 

The NEPC boss explained that the council is committed to helping the local industries towards diversifying the economy through the development of non-oil sector in accordance with the vision of the National Economic Recovery and Growth Plan, NERGP of the Federal Government.
