The Ogun state chapter of Local Government Pensioners Association (LOGPAN) onĀ Tuesday confirmed that there is cordial relationship between the association and governor Dapo Abiodun led administration contrary to the erroneous belief that the association is at loggerhead with the state government
The state Chairman of the association, Chief Sikiru Ayilara who made this known in an interview with newsmen shortly after a closed door meeting with the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun at okemosan, Abeokuta thanked him for accepting to look into the issue of harmonization in the state
Explaining the reason behind his visit to the governor’s office, Mr Ayilara said himself accompanied by other members of the association came to discuss with the governor some important issues concerning the welfare of the pensioners and also to appeal to the governor to approve harmonisation which he has agreed to look into.
According to him there was a slight disaffection between the association and the state government but it has been settled amicably for the benefit of both sides
Mr Ayilara while commending the governor for fulfilling the promise of releasing of five hundred million naira quarterly for the payment of gratuities in the state, urged the governor to review the payment, which he said would help to fastrack the payment of gratuities to his members .
