Leading other government functionaries on an on-the-spot assessment of the scene of this midweek tanker explosion on the Ogere corridor of the expressway, Governor Abiodun blamed the incessant accidents on the road on the protracted construction of the expressway by the federwl government.
According to him, the constant diversions on the expressway are hindering smooth traffic, thereby causing undue hardship to road users.
While saying that the contractor handling the project is to blame for the incident, he renewed call on the Federal government to intensify efforts at fast-tracking the completion of the construction.
Mr governor also urged road users, especially motorists to exercise caution while the work lasts.
