The Ogun State Chief Judge, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu says, Alternative Dispute Resolution Mechanism is getting a well deserved attention in the state.
She stated this at the inauguration of the Governing Council of the Ogun Multi-Door Courthouse, OMDC, and award ceremonies, held on Wednesday, at the Magistrate Court Premises, Isabo, Abeokuta.
The Chief Judge who informed that the new era evolved in the OMDC would further enhance and promote the Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanism and the administration of justice in the state, said it would also aid ease of doing business in the state.
She added that the Courthouse is an avenue for citizens to get their Alternative Disputes resolved speedily, advising the governing body which will periodically report to her office to
pay attention to the quality of Mediators, Arbitrators, and Conciliators who will be resolving issues brought to the Courthouses.
Delivering an inaugural lecture on the role of Multi-Door Courthouse in effective administration of justice, a Professor of Alternative Dispute Resolution, Alero Akeredolu OMDC provides other dispute mechanisms towards a faster, cost effective and user friendly access to justice.
She however advised relevant authorities to make the process more easy and look into the problem of OMDC locations, in case of workers’ strike, calling for investment in online dispute resolution as a way forward in such cases.
