The ogun state governor prince dapo abiodun has called for a synergy among the various religious leaders in the country to address various challenges affecting the nation
Governor abiodun made the call this Saturday during a Ramadan special iftar with the theme threats to National security and unity religion as a panacea or problem organized by the State government at arcade ground of governor’s office okemosan, abeokuta
The governor said that it is important for everyone including leaders, followers, government functionaries, traditional rulers, among others to see themselves as one which according to him is essenntial for the unity and togetherness of the nation
Describing the Holy month of Ramadan as a period for self-purification and moving closer to Allah, the governor advised moslem faithfuls to use the last ten days of the Holy month to pray for the country stating that the iftar was organized by the government as part of its efforts in appreciating the collaboration between the government and the Muslim community in line with its vision of building the future of the state together
The governor while describing the theme of the event as apt and instructive said it bas helped in proffering solutions to the issue of insecurity and lack of unity tbat is affecting the nation
Commending the guest lecturer for hitting the nail on the head, the governor submitted that people at the event had been educated and informed on how to live in peace promising that government would sustain the annual hosting of the event
The governor posited that the current administration attached importance to safety of lives and properties which led to the formation of the security trust fund that afforded the government the opportunity to strengthen its security architecture
He assured that government would continue to be resilient to act at the interest of the people of the state
