The neglect of vocational an technical education has contributed to the high rate of unemployment among the youth in the country.

Parents should therefore make it a point of duty to make their children embrace the value of technical and vocational education which can sustain them economically better than white collar job as well as make them employers of labour and not job seekers.

The Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Technical Education, Professor Joseph Odemuyiwa handed these down while featuring on OGBC Personality Programme Sunday Morning Live.

Professor Odemuyiwa said the current administration in the state is also seeking the support of relevant agencies to remove the disparity between higher national diploma and bachelor degree to encourage career progression.

He renewed the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration’s commitment to placing technical and vocational education on the front burner by making it attractive to the youths.

Callers who contributed to the discourse equally said stakeholders in technical and vocational education should be trained and made to acquire more knowledge from the international countries.
