Defending champions, D’Tigress of Nigeria will this Saturday evening confront host Senegal in the finals of this year’s Afrobasket women championships in Dakar in game that promises to be explosive.
The Nigerian girls, having defeated Tunisia, Cameroon, Congo Democratic Republic and Mali to reach the finals, are expected to face stiff opposition in front of about 15,000 fans at the Dakar arena against the Senegalese who have won a record twelve championship titles.
Senegal came from the dead to beat the resilient Mozambican girls 60-57 baskets to book their third straight finals with coach Cheikh Sarr beaming with of winning the title lost to Nigeria in Mali 2017.
