GOVERNOR ABIODUN SIGNS 2024 APPROPRIATION BILL INTO LAW.

The Ogun State governor prince dapo Abiodun this friday signed the state’s 2024 Appropriation bill of #703. 028 billion into law.

Speaking after signing the budget at okemosan,Abeokuta Governor Abiodun, who described the budget as the highest in the history of the state promised
that it would be fully implemented for the development of the state.

The budget, tagged budget of sustained growth and development was presented to the governor for assent by the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Right honourable olakunle oluomo with other principal officers at the Governor’s Office.

Noting that the state has been growing in leaps and bounds in the past five years, governor Abiodun assured that the budget would be used to drive sustainable growth and improve on the standard of living of the people of the state stating that the current administration in the last five years has achieved 70% implementation of its annual budget

He promised that the budget would stimulate economic activities, create job opportunities, and enhance the overall socio-economic landscape of the state by attracting more investment as well as assist his government to deliver on its promises and fulfill its obligation to the people.

Mr governor informed that the current administration since inception has came up with a vision of improving on the socio-economic status of the state through its ISEYA mantra which according to him has yielded positive results as the state presently is the most improved economy in the country and one of the states that its internally generated revenue, IGR, is higher that its monthly allocation reiterating that his government would sustain its achievements by building on the laid foundations

The governor thanked the speaker and members of the House of Assembly for their thorough review of the budget and preparation of the final budget, stressing that the Assembly had demonstrated to be a reliable partner in the development agenda of the state saying their efforts willnot be forgotten in hurry

Earlier, the speaker of the state house of assembly, right honourable olakunle oluomo in a remark stated that the Appropriation Bill was received on the 30th of November but its quick passage was made possible through the commitment and dedication of his colleagues

The speaker explained that his colleagues denied themselves of many weekends and holidays in order to give the budget accelerated passage so that its full implementation can start in January in accordance with best global practice
