Governors of the South Western states under the aegis of the South West Governors’ Forum, have resolved to set up a joint committee to collaborate with Akeredolu’s family, to give the late Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu a befitting burial.
The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun made the remark this Friday during a condolence visit to the home of the Akeredolus in Ibadan, Oyo State alongside his counterparts from Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji while Governor Seyi Makinde was represented by his Deputy, Mr Bayo Lawal.
Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, governor Abiodun described the deceased as a very dependable, reliable, predictable, consistent person, who never hesitated at any point in time to say exactly how he feels on any issue no matter how controversial.
Mr Governor said the late Akeredolu was a fearless and courageous man who advocated and championed the course of a southern presidency and worked towards its success.
While commiserating with the family of the deceased, governor Abiodun maintained that the southwest governors would be part of whatever plans the family would be implementing towards sending him forth.
Governor Abiodun informed that the visit by the governors was to identify with the Akeredolus in this trying moment.
He prayed to God to grant his wife, children, his family members, and the people of Ondo State the heart to bear the very bad, shocking and painful exit
