Content disseminated into the society will either mar or make it.
It is therefore important for broadcasters to properly screen every content before dissemination in order to do away with malicious contents .
The minister of information and national orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Malagi stated these at the ongoing AFRICAST CONFERENCE holding in Lagos with the theme “Broadcast content:synergy, finance and marketing”organised by the National broadcasting Commission, NBC.
Noting that the President Bola Tinubu’s Administration acknowledges the stronghold of the broadcast industry to the growth of Nigeria, Alhaji Malagi pledged the support of the government to the smooth running of the industry.
Earlier ,the Director General of NBC, Mr charles Ebuebu in a welcome address said AFRICAST came into existence in a bid to address challenges in the broadcast industry, noting that the conference is creating avenue for content creators to deliberate on innovations in ensuring the development of the broadcast industry.
Participants at the conference include the General manager of the Ogun state broadcasting corporation MrsToyin sogbesan, the Deputy general manager Programmes Services of OGBC , Mr Gbenga Omotunde, the Deputy general Manager, Engineering Division, Engineer, Femi Adeyanju and the General Manager of the sister station OGTV, Mr Tunde Kazeem as well as some members of staff of both stations.
The display of different technological Equipments for the broadcast industry is part of the highlights at the ongoing programme.
