The managing director of Monimichelle sports facility construction Limited, Mr. Ebi Egbe says he’s upbeat about the chances of African countries winning the FIFA World Cup in future.

Mr. Egbe however noted that it will be difficult to achieve such feat, if Africa do not invest heavily in infrastructure and sport facilities.

While harping on the need to help African footballers at the early stages of their career, the Monimichelle managing director opined that there is a need to get them inclined with modern day sporting facilities, particularly the playing pitches.

He said Africa will continue to struggle in terms of playing pattern and development of players, if the need to have modern day facilities is not prioritized on the continent.

In his words “The world is evolving and world Nations are investing heavily on infrastructure, because they see the sports sector, particularly football as a money making venture and not just recreation”

“African players are very talented, they are everywhere around the world and they do well week in, week out, but when they return home to play, we see different version of same players”

“Over there, Football has been refined and they play on refined pitches, back home it’s a different ball game., Africa has what it takes to win the world cup, but trust me, we really have to invest in our facilities”.

Monimichelle construction company added a touch to the newly refurbished Mobolaji Johnson stadium, Onikan Lagos State, the company also laid the turf at the ultra modern Remo Stars International Stadium, Ikenne, Ogun State, the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, among other reputable stadia across Nigeria
