GOVERNOR ABIODUN INAUGURATES STATE ROAD SAFETY ADVISORY COUNCIL.

The Ogun State governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun on Tuesday inaugurated the state road safety advisory counciil (SARSAC) headed by the Deputy Governor Engineer Noimot Salako Oyedele saddled with the responsibility of minimizing accident on the state roads

Inaugurating the 12-man council at Oke-mopsan, Abeokuta, Governor Abiodun explained that the reason behind the setting up of the council is to drive the implementation of the National Road Safety Strategy (NARSS) in the state

The governor who commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the initiative charged the council to be up and doing, stressing that the council is expected to address the challenges of road crashes in the state and the country at large

Informing that the current administration attach importance to the safety of its citizenry, the governor assured that government would continue to partner all the stakeholders towards achieving zero crash on the road, stating that government would also provide the necessary logistics to the state owned traffic compliance enforcement agency TRACE in order to make its operation more effective

The governor urged motorists to always make sure that their vehicles are in good condition before putting it on the road and also obey the traffic rules as part of their effort in supporting the government determination of making the road safe

Responding, the Chairman of the council, and the Deputy Governor, Engineer Noimot Salako Oyedele thanked Governor Abiodun for inaugurating the council, assuring that the council would work hard towards reducing accident on the road in accordance with the objective of setting up the council.
