The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria(ANAN) will continue to pursue and instill knowledge in its members for them to be abreast of the 21st century trend.
It is on this premise that its Mandatory Continuing Professional Development Programme (MCPD) s being held in the state that is synonymous with education- Ogun state.
The President of ANAN, Professor Muhammad Akaro Mianoma said this during a courtesy call on the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo this Monday.
Saying that the association, since the past 41years has been imparting knowledge on it’s members, the Anan President hinted that among other things, effective use of technology including artificial intelligence will be extensively discussed during the 3-day ANAN programme, with the theme ‘good governance and accounting architecture’
In a response, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland , Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo who noted that Egbaland was the home of Accountants, described accounting as a noble profession, therefore the need to uphold integrity among members in their respective organisations.
The train of ANAN which earlier berthed at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Mapoly, where the President lauded the institution for turning out good products, part of whom are members of the association and intimated them of the association’s Mandatory Continuing Professional Development programme and induction of new members holding in Abeokuta.
Welcoming the ANAN team to Mapoly, The Acting Rector, Dr Adeoye Odedeji, noted that Polytechnic education is for skill development and not primarily for literacy and the institution can boast of more than 6 Phd holders in its accountancy department, expressing the institution’s readiness to partner ANAN and develop a curriculum for small and Medium scale entrepreneurs to guide them in their businesses as it is small scale businesses that can develop the economy.#
