The protection and safety of children especially the girl child should be of great concern to all stakeholders.

There is therefore the need for the society to do more towards protecting them against various forms of abuses.

A Lecturer at The Federal Colledge of Education Osiele, Dr Oluwakemi Oni came up with this on OGBC Morning Flight this Tuesday as the world marks the International Day of The African Child.

Speaking on the increasing rape cases the Educationist advised parents to give more attention to their children and ensure they have access to education and unlimited freedom which should be guided by parents themselves.

She also cautioned parents against sending their girl child on an errand at night or to isolated places to guard against rape.
