The Federal Government says efforts are ongoing to ensure compliance with regard to social distancing by passengers on board each aircraft towards curtailing the spread of Coronavirus.
Already, the government has scheduled some carriers to resume operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja and three other airports in Port-harcort, Kano and Owerri.
The Minister of Aviation, Mr Hadi Sirika in an interview with newsmen in Abuja said that the measures is in addition to the Governmenmt’s directive to domestic airlines to carry between 50 and 70 percent of their normal aircraft passenger capacity on resumption.
He added that consultations had been on and would continue between the ministry and the stakeholders in the industry towards ensuring best ways for the air operations to break even without affecting passengers safety.
