The current administration in the gateway state believes that the environment is the source of life and therefore committed to protecting it.
This informed the decision by the administration at its inception to stop the felling of trees at the government’s forest reserves.
The Commissioner for environment, Mr Abiodun Abudu-Balogun who stated this on OGBC Personality Programme, Sunday Morning Live on FM said the government has since been replacing the felled trees.
While encouraging people to plant tress around their homes and desist from indiscriminate dumping of refuse. The Commissioner observed that such would ensure a healthy environment.
Mr Abudu-Balogun also called for collaborative efforts in protecting plant and animal species with a view to safeguarding the environment.
