The Ogun State Governor; Prince Dapo Abiodun has restated that his administration would continue to prioritise the welfare of the judiciary for accelerated justice administration in the state
Governor Abiodun who made the promise this thursday at the swearing-in of the new president of the Customary Court of Appeal, honourable justice Adebisi Femi-Segun held at okemosan, Abeokuta described the sector as important towards the sustenance of good governance in the state
The governor informed that his administration is fully committed towards upholding the principles of separation of power and the rule of law urging the judiciary to always remember that they are critical to steering the wheel of a civilised society and its development.
Acknowledging the contributions of the Customary Court of Appeal (CCA) to ensuring that the principles of fairness, equity and tradition are upheld in resolving disputes within communities in the state, governor Abiodun noted that the Customary Court of Appeal plays a crucial role in ensuring the resolution of dispute based on customary laws and traditions.
He added that the Customary Court of Appeal is deeply rooted in the culture and heritage of the people of the state, noting that the court has done a lot at preserving customs of the people since time immemorial.
The state helmsman charged the new president to uphold the values of fairness and adhere to due process, stressing that the president should at all times ensure that justice is served equitably.
The governor commended other members of the Customary Court of Appeal for their invaluable service to the state, saying that their dedication to the upholding of the rule of law and ensuring justice in communities across the state is highly commendedable.
