OGUN STATE GOVERNMENT HAS REITERATED SUPPORT TO SECURITY AGENCIES TOWARDS PROTECTING LIVES AND PROPERTIES.

The Ogun State government has reassured security outfits of support towards guaranteeing the safety of lives and property of the people.

Governor Dapo Abiodun gave the assurance onĀ  Saturday at the 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA) of the 35 Artillery Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Alamala, Abeokuta.

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele said the Nigerian army plays crucial roles in promoting the nation’s noble cause,lauding the collaboration between the soldiers and other security agencies in the state which has greatly yielded the desired results.

Governor Abiodun who commended the army for sustaining the WASA programme which illustrates the unity in diversity that Nigeria’s founding fathers stood for, urged the officers and men of the artillery brigade to continue to make dedication,hardwork and commitment to protecting the country’s integrity their core values.

In a welcome address, the Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier-General Muhammed Aminu explained that WASA which was adopted immediately after Nigeria’s independence and holds in the first quarter of the year is a special programme that fosters comradeship among officers and men of the Nigerian Army.

According to him, the activities go a long in showcasing the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the country as well as create a social atmosphere where officers unwind with their family members.

He renewed the commitment of the brigade to collaborating with other security agencies in securing the lives and property of the people of the state.

The ceremony featured cultural troupe presentations and tug of war displays.
