Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, on Tuesday played host to some of his old political associates,the “G-26 SDP”- a political group, with an assurance of sustaining the ideals of selfless service to the people, which the group was known for in administering the affairs of the State Legislature.
Rt hon Elemide accompanied by some other lawmakers during the meeting with the members of the group at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, appreciated the delegation which cut across the 20 Local Government Areas for their support and solidarity.
He explained that the group, which consisted of individuals of progressive like-minds, had been together working for the progress and development of the State in all endeavours.
Earlier, some members of the group including former lawmakers Femi
Allen Taylor, Elizabeth Anifowoshe and others like Mr. Segun Ojolowo as well as Nurudeen Ayelotan commended the State lawmakers for choosing Rt Hon. Elemide, a member of the group to pilot the affairs of the State Legislature.
They described the new Speaker as a worthy and consistent leader, who possesses traits that would turn around the fortunes of the Assembly.
They noted that Mr speaker always accorded priority to the welfare of his people and political associates, admonishing him to continue to ensure quality leadership thereby sustaining the trust of his colleague-lawmakers who elected him as the Speaker.
The group equally commended the Assemblymen for the seamless manner in which they elected the new Speaker, which they noted remained exemplary.
