Federal Government renews commitment to ensuring food sufficiency.

Vice President Yemi  Osinbajo  has renewed Government’s commitment towards ensuring value added services in food production chain in the country.

This is in a bid to making Nigeria self sufficient in food production.

The Vice President made this known at the 4th National discourse organized by the companion, an Associate of Muslim Men in Business and the Profession this Sunday, held in Lagos.

According to Him,the Federal Government is evolving new measures to enhance the core areas of agriculture through mechanized farming.

Describing the theme of the programme, “Food Security: Unleashing Nigeria’s Natural Potential for Self Sufficiency”, Professor Osinbajo said the Federal Government is not relenting in it’s effort at ensuring that Nigerians produce and consume locally made foods.

He informed that the Nigeria being the highest producer of cassava worldwide is partnering other country to increase the production of cassava, yam, rice, wheat, cotton, groundnut and soyabean for local consumption and export purposes.
