GOVERNOR ABIODUN PLEDGES TO EMPOWER COUNCILLORS IN OGUN

The Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has promised to empower the 236 councillors in the twenty local governments towards achieving an effective service delivery in the state

Governor Abiodun who made the.promise on monday while addressing the councillors at okemosan, Abeokuta, who came to felicitate him on his victory at the appellant court last week Friday in lagos said the recent payment of their furniture allowances was infulfilment of the promise made to them

The governor said the empowerment is necessary for the councillors being closest to the grassroots, noting that the successes recorded by the current administration during the first time was as a result of cooperation and collaboration efforts of the councillors

Thanking them for coming around to congratulate him on the victory at the court, the governor urged the councillors to continue to discharge their duties effectively in order to deliver dividend of democracy to the people of the state

The governor pointed out that the judgement at the appellant court was the second time his victory on the.march 18 governorship election in the state would be affirmed imploring his opponents to stop his wild goose chase and join hands with his administration in taking the state to a greater height

He assured that his administration would consolidate on the achievement recorded through the ISEYA mantra during the first time in implementing workable policies and programs to justify the mandate entrusted on him by the people of the state

Earlier, the acting chairman, Ogun State councillors’ forum, Mr Lanre adeleye from Ajuwon-Akute ward 6 in ifo local government said the reason behind the visit was to congratulate the governor on his victory at the appellant court and to thank him for the.payment of the furniture allowances to all the councillors across the state

He promised that the 236 councillors would continue to support the governor in achieving good governance in accordance with his agenda for the people of the state
