OGUN TO GIVE LATE OPALEYE A BEFITTING BURIAL

The Ogun State governor Prince dapo Abiodun has described the former military administrator of ondo state, major-general kayode opaleye, as an industrious son of the gateway state who contributed immensely towards the nation’s growth

The governor therefore promised that the state government would set up a committee to work with the family in giving the late military officer a befitting burial

Governor Abiodun while speaking this midweek at the residence of the deceased during a condolence visit to the family at Ibara GRA, Abeokuta noted that the former military administrator lived an impactful life by living behind good legacies through his mentorship attitude

Describing him as a devoted Christian, the governor said the deceased was passionate about the nation’s development as a career officer in the Nigerian army

Urging people to live an impactful life in order to be remembered for good after death, Mr governor described life as transient that must be lived by contributing positively to other people’s lives

Speaking on behalf of the family, the eldest son, Mr kunle opaleye thanked governor Abiodun for the visit, describing his father as an humbled man whose life was characterised by integrity and uprightness

Also speaking at the residence of the former minister of finance, Dr onaolapo soleye during a condolence visit to the family, governor dapo Abiodun described the former minister as a role model whose tenure was a turning point in the nation’s economy

The governor, who described the deceased as a close friend to the former president, chief Olusegun Obasanjo, said that he was an intellectual of repute during his day as academic staff at the nation’s premier university

Mr governor noted that the former minister set a track record while in office as a minister of finance for other indigenes of the state to excel who was also appointed to occupy the position after him

The governor while imploring the family to take solace in God assured them that his government would stand with the family during this period in ensuring that the deceased is giving a befitting transitional program

Mr olamide soleye who spoke on behalf of the family lauded governor dapo Abiodun for the condolence visit, which he said would serve as a relief to the family
