The guest on OGBC’s Sunday Morning Live on FM, Dr. Lukmon Oyelami stated this while reacting to questions from callers on the programme.
Professor Oyelami who is a tax expert from the Department of Economics, University of Lagos observed that states should be allowed to manage their resources, while giving a percentage to the federal government in order to ensure that our natural resources are fully explored.
On the high cost of governance, Dr Oyelami said government should do away with political patronage in rhe appointment of political operatives, saying the appointment of over forty Ministers for instance is counter productive.
Speaking on how to judiciously spend recovered loot, Dr Oyelami observed that such loots should be tied to a particular project, such as the provision of healthcare and adequate social amenities ,order than ending up being relooted.
