The Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun onĀ Thursday signed the 2023 Appropriation bill into law
Signing the N472.250 billion Appropriations bill known as budget of continued development and prosperity as passed earlier in the day by the State House of Assembly in his office at okemosan in the present of top hierarchy of the state assembly led by the Speaker, the Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo, Governor Dapo Abiodun assured that he would ensure full implementation of all the items on the bill to sustain the momentum of “Building Our Future Together” Agenda of his Administration.
Governor Abiodun explained that the budget is a reflection of what the people of Ogun State wants, assuring that government would ensure that the budget provide more dividend of democracy for the people of the state
The governor noted that the state has improved on its annual budget performances in the last three years, reiterating that government would continue to work towards the development of the state
Thanking the Speaker and other members of the House of Assembly for their diligence that culminated in the passage of the budget before the year runs out, Mr governor stressed that the accelerated passage of the budget is a true reflection of the commitment of the lawmakers towards the advancement of the socio-economic status of the state
Earlier, the speaker of the House of Assmbly, the Right Honourable Olakunle Oluomo in a remark said the timely passage of the Appropriation bill was in fulfilment of his promise to the governor on the day of presentation,adding that the budget undergone necessary scrutiny as required by law before its passage so that the state government can hit the ground running in earnest
Governor Dapo Abiodun had presented the Budget barely a month ago.
