The nation’s number one, President Muhammadu Buhari has restated the resolve to bequeath free, fair and credible elections next year.
He restated this in what he called a farewell speech at the 77th session of theUnited Nations General Assembly in New York.
According to him, one of the enduring legacies he would like to leave is the entrenchment of a process of free, fair and transparent and credible elections through which Nigerians can elect leaders of their choice
He reiterated his commitment to constitutional term limit and Nigera’s efforts to promote the rule of law and democracy in West Africa., citing the country’s support for the Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Chad during their political crises.
