The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has promised to set up a committee for the rehabilitation of public school across the state as part of efforts to providing basic amenities to reposition the education sector for greater performance.
Governor Abiodun who made the promise this Tuesday while playing host to members of Ogun state chapter of association of primary school headteachers of nigeria, AOPSHON, led by its chairman, comrade olatunji Balogun at okemosan, abeokuta said the rehabilitation committee would be a model to complement the efforts of the School Universal Basic Education, SUBEB, in school infrastructural development
The governor explained that the meeting called at his stance was parts of his engagement and reconnnections with some crtitcal stakeholders across all sectors of the state economy to further actualise the agenda of the current administration of building the future of the state together
While dwelling on the pace of infrastructure development among other initiatives carried out to repositioning the sector despite the limited resources, governor Abiodun assured the headteachers of adequate provision of basic amenities to address some lingering issues in their various schools across the state describing the primary education as an important segment that needed to be improved on being the foundation of human life
He promised that government would continue to improve on their welfare in appreciation of their efforts towards sustaining the legacy of the state as the education capital of the nation as achieved by the founding fathers
The chairman of the association, comrade OLatunji Balogun in a remark pledged that the second term bid of prince dapo abiodun is a done deal for the association.
The chairman who appreciated the current administartion for the immense contributions to the education sector of the gateway state urged the governor to address the issue of delay in the payment of school running cost
