GOVERNOR ABIODUN SIGNS CONTRACT FOR MAJOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION IN ABEOKUTA NORTH

The Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun says he has signed the contract for the reconstruction of major roads in Abeokuta North local government

The governor therefore promised that he would continue to prioritise the infrastructural development of the state for the benefit of the residents

Governor Abiodun who made the promise this Friday while speaking at the Abeokuta North local government unified ward meeting of All Progressives Congress, APC, held at Oba adeleye Park, said the contract was signed since Monday after the on the spot assessment carried out during the last weekend at ilugun, iberekodo, saje and elega due to its importance to the commercial activities of the area and the state at large

Appreciating the people of the local government for their support , the governor informed that the current administration would ensure that necessary amenities are provided across the state as part of its efforts in making the environment more friendly and habitable

He added that he has donated two new transformers to lafenwa Market in accordance with his promise to the traders during his last visit to the market to end the darkness that has pervaded the market for many years

While calling on the party supporters to prepare for the forthcoming general elections, the number one citizen of the gateway state said the reason behind the visit was to meet them to know some of the challenges being faced at the local government

He urged the women within the local government area to key in into the state women empowerment program known as okowo dapo for poverty alleviation and to improve on their welfare

Speaking earlier, the State party chairman, chief yemi sanusi commended the governor for the massive infrastructural development across the state stressing that Mr governor was in the area to know other projects that still need to be improved on

The meeting was attended by party faithfuls from across the local government
