The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo has charged various companies operating in the state to do more of Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR, programs within their various host communities.
Governor Abiodun who made this known this midweek during the commissioning of a multi-million dollar packaging films plant at sagamu, urged the company to contribute their quota by adopting either a school or primary health care center.
The governor explained that Corporate Social Responsibility programs if well utilised by the companies, it would further motivate the host community to support the growth and success of such company.
Governor Abiodun pointed out that his administration had put in place various policies which he said had ensured the creation of a focused and qualitative environment for public private sector to thrive, adding that the serene environment created by the government has continuously led to the transformation of the state as well as the economic growth and individual prosperity of the people.
The state helmsman informed that his administration having understood the importance of effective security has provided adequate gadgets for the security agencies in the state to enhance investment across the state saying investment can only thrive in a secured environment
Mr governor while commending the Chairman of the firm for enlightening his administration on the damages plastics has done to the environment and the need to be conscious of the use of biodegrade able materials, promised that the current administration would be looking at the possibility of passing a law that would ensure that companies that produce plastics begin to use poly bio degradeable plastics to save the environment from degradation
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the company Mr Ashok Chaturvedi thanked the governor for providing a conducive atmosphere for private companies to thrive in the state, assured that the company would continue to support the development of the state
