GOVERNOR ABIODUN TASKS COMPANIES ON CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has appealed to industries and companies operating in the state to be alive to their corporate social responsibilities {CSR]

Governor Abiodun made the plea on Thursday at the commissioning of the first fibre optic cable in sub Saharan Africa of Coleman Wire and Cable at Arepo in Obafemi/ Owode local Government.

The Governor, who charged the host communities to display a high level of cooperation and responsibility with the investors, said government has implemented policies and programmes  that had attracted more investment into the state

He noted that the fibre optic cable manufacturing factory , which is the first in west Africa and the fifth in Africa, would further boost the current administration’s innovation and development of digital economy infrastructure.

Governor Abiodun informed that his administration’s efforts of building a technologically advanced state had won the state several awards in the area of information communications technology and digital economy.

The Governor , who affirmed that the commissioning of the factory would go a long way in conserving the already scarce foreign exchange , promote technology transfer, generate employment and alleviate poverty, called on well meaning individuals and organizations to come and benefit from the immense opportunities in the state.
