Stakeholders hold Security Summit in Ibadan to stem the spread of kidnapping,abduction and maiming in South West region.

The need for the government at all levels to encourage community policing has returned ti the force as participants brainstorm at the ongoing stakeholders security summit with focus on Western Nigeria taking place this Tuesday in Ibadan.

Some of the participants are of the opinion that the infiltration of the country by criminals results from porous borders.

A Retired Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Mr Ade Ajakaye advised the state Governors in the Geo-Political Zone to empower the local security outfits for effective policing system positing that such move would curtail criminality.

Also speaking, a retired Government official, Mr Jimoh Bankole advised Governments at all levels to create jobs for the youths as antidote to the insecurity explaining that mass unemployment of the youths is the cause of most crimes in the country.
