Believing that no woman should lose her status, livelihood or property when her Spouse dies, the Governor of Ogun State Prince Dapo Abiodun says the welfare of widows will take a pride of place in the Government agenda.

Accordint to him, an empowerment programme known as “Oko-Owo Dapo” that could be likened to the “Trader Moni” would soon be introduced while the enumerator of the widows in the state is also to be carried out.
Also speaking, the Governor’s wife, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun said that government will empower widows in the state by providing skills and tools needed for them to live normal life.
Mrs Abiodun who alongside the husband bared their minds in Abeokuta on Monday in commemoration of the 2019 international widows day, submitted that this year’s theme: “Renewed Hope for Widows” is timely.
