TIMETABLE FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTION IS TO BE RELEASED SOON- GOVERNOR ABIODUN

The Ogun State Governor, priince Dapo Abiodun has assured the people of the state that the timetable for the forthcoming local government election will soon be released

Governor Abiodun made the remark this Monday while receiving members of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, including the former Commissioner for Special Duties, Chief Kola Sorinola and the State director-general of People’s Democratic Party, (PDP)during the last election, Aare Remilekun Bakare and their supporters from Ogun Central Senatorial District during their declaration for the ruling All progressive congress, (APC)at ori-omi Sokori, Abeokuta in Abeokuta North Local government.

The Governor while allaying the fears of the party members that there would be no imposition of candidate in any of the Local government said the party would follow due process in the selection of the candidates that will fly the flag of the party during the election.

According to the Governor all party candidates should continue to work hard as the position of Chairmanship will not be by appointment but by election

He informed that since the inception of the current administration, the ruling party has been receiving members from various political parties due to the inclusive system of administration adopted in the state which according to him has yielded positive results in enhancing the lives of the residents

The Governor while assuring the new members of equal treatment, urged the party members to cooperate and support them in order to tap from their wealth of experience to take the party to greater height

Earlier, the Ogun State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC)Chief Yemi Sanusi pointed out that the state currently has become a one party state, which is unprecedented in the history of the state, due to the sterling leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun that attracted people from other political parties to align with the ruling party

The Chairman advised the new members to join hands with the party and also work in accordance with the constitution of the party to realize the vision of the current administration in building a virile state.

Responding, the new members, Chief Kola Sorinola and Aare Remilekun Bakare submitted that the reason behind joining the ruling party is to contribute their quota as an experienced politicians towards the growth of the party in the state.
