The Ogun State government is to introduce a policy to guide ranching .
The policy will also address the production of beef as a revenue earner for the state.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor, Dapo Abiodun on Agriculture, Dr Angel Adelaja-Kuye brought these to the fore in an interview with Staff reporter Dele Ogunleye in Abeokuta.
Dr Adelaja-Kuye also emphasized that the state government will provide locations for ranching.
While promising to provide enabling environment for ranching to enhance community driven economic benefits of ranching,the SSA on Agriculture informed that Governor Dapo Abiodun led administration will collaborate with the private sector to operate its proposed abbatoir to enhance quality beef production.
She pointed out that the law will provide quarantine services to make animals coming into the state disease free,just as it will consider laws that will trace and monitor animals coming into the state through regulations on identification of every cattle passing through the state.
