COVID-19: OGUN TESCOM COMMENCES SCHOOL MONITORING

Ogun State government has reassured that safety of students remains paramount to the present administration, hence, the Covid-19 test recommendation to safeguards and protects them.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Primary and Secondary Education, Mrs. Ronke Soyombo gave the assurance during her visit to public and private schools in the State, to check their level of preparedness for students’ resumption.

She stressed that each schools was expected to have an isolation room with first aid kits to cater for their sick students, with infrared thermometer to check daily temperature of students and teachers, water, buckets, soaps, sanitizers, saying face masks had been provided by the government for the use of the schools.

She commended parents, teachers and schools administrators for their support towards building the State together in the fight against the deadly pandemic.

While appreciating school principals for their efforts at ensuring accurate preparedness, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye, assured parents and care givers that schools in the State are now safer, conducive and fully prepared for resumption.

In their responses, Messrs. Dare Sorinola, Olusola Elegbede, Ayodele Taiwo and Mrs. Aderemi Sorunke of Abeokuta Grammar School, African Church Grammar School, Ogun Science Academy and Abeokuta Girls Grammar School , lauded the intervention and support from the State government, promising to ensure full compliance to the guidelines put in place to preserve lives of both students and teachers.
