Encomiums, tributes and accolades have continued to pour in for the first African Nobel Laureate, for Literature, Professor Oluwole Akinwande Soyinka as he clocks four scores and six.

Eulogising the Literary giant at 86, a Professor of Applied Communication and Head, Department of Communication and Language Arts , University of Ibadan, Ayo Ojebode noted that the strides recorded by the Nobel Laureate is far beyond the three genres of literature which are poetry, drama and prose.

The U.I Don observed  that Professor Soyinka displayed unparalleled excellence beyond being a literary giant as he left indelible marks on African policies, politics and governance, saying that he always scream and fight anywhere there is tyranny.

According to Professor Ojebode, the Ogun state-born Professor Soyinka is a blessing to Nigeria as he impacted greatly on humanity.

In his poem entitled “Papa Kongi at 86”, a Scotland-based Writer and PhD student at the University of Strathclyde, Mr Dare Lasisi submitted that the African Wizard’s ink soured against tyrants.

As Mr Lasisi said, the ageless Kongi who is a Legendary Wordsmith must not melt now as he is still needed to lampoon the obnoxious illegality against the oppressed soul.
