Lawmakers who contributed to the debate on the bill at the plenary  on  Tuesday included Assemblymen  Yusuf Amosun, Soneye Damilola and Balogun Akeem said that the bill would help in harnessing more resources by the CDAs, especially from corporate bodies for the amenities within communities, while spelling out the powers of the Ministry of Community Development and Cooperative and that of the Department of Community Development in each of the Local Government Councils in the State.

In his response, the Speaker the Right  Hon Olakunle Oluomo, noted that it remained the sole responsibility of the Department of Community Development in the Local Government Councils to make appropriate recommendations to the State Government on issues of aids and grants to CDAs, adding that the proposed law would repeal the existing CDA law.
