The establishment of the Ogun State Sports Commission is expected to enhance the Socio-Economic activities of the State.
It will also create more job opportunities for the youths, just as it will improve sporting activities.
These were the submissions of the members of the House of Assembly at the plenary this Tuesday while the bill on the creation of the state sports commission scaled its second reading.
The chairman of the committee on youths, sports and employment generation, assemblyman Sola Adams who opened debate on the bill after its adoption on the house noted that the establishment of the commission will be in line with international standard for the engagement of the youths.
Also contributing, Assemblyman, Haruna Wahaab, Kemi Oduwole, Musefiu Lamidi, Atinuke Bello and Bola Ajayi said the sports commission will promote sports development at the grassroots.
The lawmakers posited that the agency when in place, will facilitate the discovery of talents and in essence, reposition the sports sector.
