Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has proscribed the activities of the Coalition of Tai Solarin College of Education, (COTAS), Omu Ijebu, warning its leaders to eschew activities capable of undermining the return of full activities in the institution.
Governor Abiodun noted that government would not hesitate to hand over any lecturer or staff engaging in any unwholesome activity linked to COTAS, to the law enforcement agents.
A statement, issued in Abeokuta by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Kunle Somorin, said COTAS was an illegal body, constituting a clog in the wheel of actualising the mandate of the institution, as ‘’its activities are clearly at variance with the objective for setting up the College. We cannot allow it to continue to delay the return of full academic and administrative activities in the institution”.
It further added that any act of lawlessness by staff of the College would be treated as a criminal act punishable under the law, saying government was keenly monitoring developments in the institution for further pronouncement as appropriate.
