The Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has described the former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, as an epitome of success whose contributions to the national unity are unparalleled.
Governor Abiodun made the remark this midweek at the 88th birthday celebration of the former president held in Abeokuta.
Mr. Governor explained that the immense development and growth achieved in the country and in other african countries were made possible through the efforts of the elder statesman.
Extolling the virtues of the former president, the governor noted that his contributions to the enthronement of democracy in the country remains a landmark achievement which he said was made possible as a result of his commitment to democracy and national unity.
Governor Abiodun, who described him as an architect of the modern Nigeria said his administration would continue to be inspired by his legacy, reaffirming that his administration would not relent in making the state a role model in appreciation of his support.
The first citizen of the gateway state noted that the celebrant has displayed exemplary leadership in the vineyard of God and as a pragmatic community leader by ensuring peace and unity in the Owu kingdom, as the Balogun of Owu and the state in general.
While wishing him happy birthday, the governor prayed to God to grant him sound health to celebrate more years on earth.
