Meanwhile ,the Ogun State governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has promised that the state government would leverage technology in fighting crimes in the state

Governor Abiodun made the promise this monday at the conference and retreat for senior police officers named CARSPO 2025 held in Abeokuta

The governor explained that the state government would make use of artificial intelligence, AI , as well as digital devices to fight cybercrime and also collaborate with the French government towards the provision of drones that will cover about 8000 metres from the sky to capture the identify of criminals in hidden places in order to make the state the safest in the country

Mr governor who identified security as the cornerstone of any society’s growth pointed out that the state has taken a bold step by restructuring its security trust fund through the provision of modern-day equipment for security agencies to improve its security architecture, stating that the state being the industrial hub of the nation needs an effective security systems due to the influx of large number of people into the state

He assured that his administration would continue to partner the police to strengthen the community policing to achieve sustainable economic growth

He charged the law enforcement agencies to form a synergy by upholding transparency in all their dealings to reduce crime to the minimal in the country

The inspector General of Police, IGP, Mr kayode Egbetokun in a welcome address said the program which was the fifth edition was put together to review the activities of the security outfit and to profer solutions to some of the identified challenges in compliance with the global best practice

Promising that the outfit would continue to provide a formidable security mechanism in the country, the IGP said his administration since inception has addressed some of the challenges facing his personnel especially in the area of welfare and renovation of police barracks across the country

The event was attended by heads of security agencies across the country and that of Kenya and Rwanda
