GOVERNOR ABIODUN REITERATES RESOLVE TO INVEST IN THE POWER SECTOR

TheĀ  Ogun State governor Prince dapo Abiodun has reiterated the commitment of his administration to invest in the power sector to promote the state’s industrialization agenda

Governor Abiodun gave the assurance this thursday while receiving the minister of industry at the federal ministry of industry, trade and investment, Senator John Enoh who was in the state on familiarisation tour of the industries in the state at okemosan, Abeokuta

The governor emphasized that the provision of the cheapest power supply coupled with the presence of gas reticulation in the state would accelerate economic development by attracting more investments into the state

Mr. Governor informed that the current administration at inception introduced ISEYA mantra as a means of improving the socio-economic development of the state noting that the state government has invested heavily in road construction to sustain its position as the industrial hub of the nation

He informed that his administration has also reconstructed some of the major highways such as abeokuta-sagamu road, Atan-lusada-agbara road in ado-odo ota local government that housed the highest number of industries in the country, ijebu-ode/epe road among others adding that the ongoing construction of gatewsy international airport would also serve as another opportunity to increase the state’s internally generated revenue, IGR

He added that the state would soon house the largest cotton and apparel industry at the agro processing zone within the airport vicinity which expected to employ over forty thousand people

Congratulating the minister on his appointment, Governor Abiodun described him as a hardworking and experienced politician who has contributed immensely to the nation’s political arena at the national assembly levels, former minister of sports and youths development before his recent appointment as the minister of industry promising that the state government would continue to support him to achieve to agenda in the ministry
