The Ogun State Governor; Prince Dapo Abiodun, has admonished sons and daughters of Iperu-Remo in Ikenne Local Government to maintain law and order during the mourning period of the late Alaperu of Iperu-Remo, Oba Idowu Basibo
The governor, who described the death of the monarch as a personal loss and a big blow to Remoland, noted that it is a vaccum that will take several years to fill.
Governor Dapo Abiodun made the remark on Saturday during a condolence visit to the palace of the Alaperu
Thanking the Lisa, Oluwo, Erelu and the high chiefs for maintaining peace and orderliness in the town since the demise of the monarch, Governor Dapo Abiodun described the late Alaperu as a quintessential and a perfect gentleman.
The state helmsman who also acknowledged the contributions of the late monarch to the development of the town stated that the monach who retired from the Nigeria Customs to serve his people brought all his network of.goodwill.into developing the town of Iperu.during his period on the throne
The governor informed that the state government would set up a committee to be headed by the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr Tokunbo Talabi to work with members of the Iperu/Remo traditional council to ensure that the monarch is giving a befitting send forth.
The Lisa of Iperu, Chief Rotimi Odubona, earlier in a remark thanked governor dapo abiodun for his support to the family since the death of the monarch, ,urging him to help the town and the family in ensuring that the monarch is buried without delay.
Oba Idowu Basibo died last week thursday at the age of 67
