OGUN HoS APPRECIATES GOVERNOR DAPO ABIODUN
…..urges Public Servants to remain committed
I extend my warmest greetings and heartfelt congratulations to the dedicated workforce of Ogun State as we step into the New Year, 2025.
In all modesty, the progress achieved in various sectors of Ogun State would not have been possible without the unwavering commitment of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun CON to the welfare of workers . I must also commend the invaluable contributions of our teeming workforce driven by professionalism and integrity which have continued to uphold the pride and reputation of the Ogun State Public Service while our collective efforts is geared toward advancing the vision of our great State.
I must seize this opportunity to once again express my sincerest gratitude to His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON, the Governor of Ogun State, for his resolute commitment to the welfare of the Public Servants. Under the purposeful leadership of His Excellency, the welfare of workers has remained a top priority and the benefits derived from his people-centered policies have greatly enhanced the morale and productivity of the workforce of the State.
The numerous gestures of His Excellency towards the workforce in 2024 speak volumes of his dedication to their well-being. These include the provision of quality training and seminars to enhance professional capacity, the introduction of an extra day off duty to further cushion the hike in pump price of petrol and the sale of rice to Public Servants at discounted prices to ease economic pressures. These initiatives have been able to greatly address the immediate needs of the teeming workforce and have equally strengthened the fabric of the Public Service.
Furthermore, the launch of the Public Sector Health Insurance Scheme has brought immense relief to workers by ensuring access to quality healthcare. His Excellency’s consistent payment of salaries and allowances as and when due, clearance of backlogs of deductions and timely payment of leave allowances also underscore his administration’s resolve to improve financial stability of workers.
Most significantly, the implementation of the new minimum wage of Seventy-Seven Thousand Naira (₦77,000.00) and recently, the payment of the end-of-year jumbo bonus for workers and Pensioners are landmark achievements that reflect the determination of His Excellency to ensure the welfare and happiness of the workforce and retirees.
The sale of food items to public servants and retirees at a highly subsisidised rate to cushion the effect of global inflation was a great relief to the beneficiaries. The release of the sum of N5 billion naira to offset the backlog of arrears of Pensioners ‘s gratuity is also quite unprecedented as it has closed the gap of owed arrears. These initiatives have set a benchmark for excellence in governance and have positioned Ogun State as a model of worker-centric administration in Nigeria.
It is heartwarming to also note the approval granted by His Excellency to the domestication of the resolutions of the National Council of Establishments in the State, a bold step which has continued to promote efficiency and productivity in the system
It is my earnest prayer that the Almighty God will continue to grant His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON divine guidance, exceptional intellect, good strength and sound health as he steadfastly pilots the affairs of the Gateway State. May his visionary leadership remain a beacon of hope that will unceasingly open doors of remarkable progress and enduring peace for Ogun State and its people.
To the workforce of Ogun State, I urge you to reciprocate these generous gestures by rededicating yourselves to the ideals of the Public Service. I encourage you to commit to delivering efficient, innovative and people-focused services that align with the vision of the current administration. The future of Ogun State depends on our collective resolve to build upon the achievements of the past year while consolidating on the foundations of progress laid under the _’Building Our Future Together’_ Agenda of His Excellency, the Governor.
In commencement of the official journey of 2025, I enjoin all Public Servants as the engine room to put in their best in their various endeavours, noting that your contributions are pivotal to sustaining the momentum of progress and ensuring the continued prosperity of the Public Service of our dear State. Of course, each of us has a role to play in shaping the future of Ogun State and I am quite optimistic that we will all rise to the occasion.
Additionally, I urge you to uphold the reputation of the Public Service of Ogun State by exemplifying integrity, discipline and diligence as the defining principles of your daily and official conduct. These values should evolve a culture of excellence that reinforces confidence in the efficiency of our Public Service and earns the trust and respect of the citizens we are privileged to serve.
May the New Year herald good tidings for the teeming workforce of Ogun State and serve as a platform for us to further reap the significant gains of good governance while equally solidifying the position of the State as a beacon of development and progress.
Once again, I commend the dedication and hard work of all bureaucrats in the Public Service of Ogun State and wish us all a prosperous 2025.
