The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has commended the Comptroller General of Customs, CGC, Alhaji Adewale Adeniyi for his sterling leadership since assumption of office
Governor Abiodun gave the commendation on thursday during an interractive session with the men and officers of the service after the inspection of the ongoing projects at the Customs village located at the Gateway International Agro cargo Airport, iperu-Remo in ikenne local government
The governor explained that the Comptroller -General has instituted a lot of laudable programs that have enhanced the operations of the service
He stated that the citing of the Customs village at the airport would serve as an avenue to improve on the status of the state as the industrial hub of the nation and also help the proposed Kajola Inland dry port and the Olokola seaport
While assuring the Comptroller General of Customs of the state government support towards the timely completion of the project , Governor Abiodun posited that some of the facilities at the Airport would complement the Customs village to be more effective in achieving the aims of setting it up
The Comptroller – General of Customs earlier in a remark thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for making the project a reality by approving the budget for the construction of the Customs village
Alhaji Adeniyi described Governor Abiodun as an achiever for creating the enabling environment for the growth of many industries in the state, adding that the existence of the Customs village would be another opportunity for job creation for both skilled and unskilled labour for the people of the state
He assured that the new structure would have an abundant impact on the operations of the Nigeria Customs Service as it would increase productivity, revenue generation, and serene environment for its workforce to thrive
