Civil/Public Servants in Ogun State have been called upon to take good advantage of the sporting activities embedded in the Public Service week celebration to keep fit, boost the brain and ease tension.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr. Tokunbo Talabi made the call while flagging off the Indoor Games, as part of activities to commemorate the 2024 Public Service Week celebration held at the Arcade Ground, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

According to him, apart from sports being a way of life and a good tool to relieve tension from all the stress of life, it also keeps the brain working especially with the array of games displayed for the workers to engage themselves in.

The SSG played glowing tributes to past Heads of Service appointed by this administration for moving the State Civil Service from glory to glory as this goes to show that government painstakingly chose them, and lauded the incumbent Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya for being focused and productive, with a charge to all the workers to keep discharging their duties very well.

Adding his voice, the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya said sports put inĀ  commemorating the Public Service Week was meant to bring unity and bonding amongst the workers as sports is a leveller that is devoid of seniority or hierarchy.

Highlights of the indoor games include the SSG and the HoS playing all the games together and with the workers as well as with the Commissioners for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Adebola Sofela and Youth and Sports, Mr. Wasiu Isiaka.
